Living for Tomorrow

Are you "Living for Tomorrow"? There are many in this world who are just trying to get by today and have no idea of the Hope we have for tomorrow or eternity. We have been given a wonderful opportunity to reach these people through Lutheran Hour Ministries and the "Living for Tomorrow" outreach campaign. This series of television and radio commercials is designed to help parents get "Talking Openly with Kids." In the past the commercials have aided people in troubling family circumstances and those coping with divorce. We know 30 seconds on TV can’t do the job, that’s why the "Living For Tomorrow" campaign provides listeners with emotional and spiritual support through Christ-centered books and tapes. Among their resources are: "Now You’re Talking", "Divorce Recovery", and "Talking Openly with Kids."

Volunteer
The Lutheran Hour is asking us to be the people who personally bring these resources to callers who request them. We have a wonderful privilege to connect the message of the commercials to the real people they touch. And a caring person says even more than 30 seconds on TV or a book! We need volunteers in every community where we have members to be on call to deliver one of these study guides to a neighbor. The process is very simple—and this is not an evangelism call. All we need is for friendly volunteers to take materials to the homes of callers who have requested them from the commercial’s 1–800–LIVING4 number.

Pray
This is an exciting opportunity for our Lutheran Ministries congregations to partner with The Lutheran Hour to reach the six county area we see as our mission field. Please pray for the field of people who could benefit from these powerful messages. Pray for enthusiasm among us and for volunteers to make deliveries. We would, also, like to make a list of people who would pray for the people this campaign touches and for those involved in delivering materials.

When Will We See These Messages?
Katie's story is the subject of one of the Living For Tomorrow commercials. Click here to view the commercialThe special Lutheran Hour commercials will run for two weeks— March 13-24. Radio stations running the ads include: 96.1 FM, 104.1 FM, 92.5 FM, and during Dr. Laura on 1000 AM. Television networks included in the campaign are: FOX, ABC, CBS, and NBC. Check your church bulletin board for specific shows, days and times. You’ll get a chance to see the commercials during our worship service today. And our web site will be playing the commercials throughout the campaign.

Respond Today
Please respond by volunteering to be someone standing by to deliver our Lutheran Hour Ministries materials. Volunteer to be a prayer partner. Or do both! Fill out a volunteer’s card, available from our elders or bulletin desk, to commit your support to this effort. By your involvement you will be "Living for Tomorrow."
