Making volunteerism practical was
the theme of a recent planning meeting for our new season of Jesus Club activities.
Were sending out the call for volunteers in four areas. Before you say,
"no" read this article and pray about your calling.
- Food preparation and service: we need people to
prepare snacks for about 35 children. Many seniors have helped us in the past and
were hoping for your support again. It is also extremely meaningful to the kids if
you can help serve. Food is served from 3:15-3:40pm each Wednesday. Speak with Food
Service Coordinator Sarah Schreiner to help with food service for Jesus Club.
- Study leaders and Youth CITs (Counselor
in Training): Volunteers will help students open up and to calm them when theyre restless.
A volunteer need not be present every week. Study
times are from 3:40-5:30pm each Wednesday. Speak with Study
Coordinator Mona Hunter to be a study leader or CIT with our kids.
- Prayer Groups Leaders: One of the most life-changing
experiences you will ever participate in is sharing time with a small group of kids and
helping them to pray about their concerns. Students keep a group journal of their prayers.
Speak with Prayer Group
Coordinator Mona Hunter to experience the thrill of praying with young
children.
- Prayer Intercessors: We need the entire Jesus
Club ministry held up in prayer by people who will commit a specific 5-10 minute time
of prayer during the meeting of Jesus Club each Wednesday (3:15-5:30pm). You can
pray in your home, at work, at the church the place doesnt matter, but the
time is crucial. Speak with Intercessory Prayer Coordinator
Sandi Geis to be a Jesus Club Prayer Intercessor.
