- Office hours- Pastor Ronald will be in
the office on selected Fridays from 9:00 -12:00noon. The dates in
September are the 8th and 22nd. Everyone is invited to stop by, or if you
let him know he will come by your house.
- Bible School Saturday has been
scheduled for September 16 from 9:30am - 12noon. Please invite children to
join us. This program provides an opportunity for people in the community to
learn about our church and for us to share Christ's love with families.
Volunteers are also needed to help with snacks and crafts.
- Scripture Scrapbooking is
scheduled for Saturday September 16th. Following a short devotion, we will
scrapbook pictures that reflect Scriptures that correspond to the letters of
the alphabet. We have all supplies available for free except for your choice
of pictures. Invite a friend to join us and check out our new website to see
the Scriptures in order to plan your picture pages: www.lutheranok.org.
Call Mona at the office for info,1-800-758-2945.
- New Website! Lutheran Ministries of
Southwest Oklahoma has another website – www.lutheranok.org.
You can now access audio sermons from this site. This does not replace the
old one. The old one is still there, but you can only access the audio from
the new one.
- The Oklahoma Foster Care Organization has
asked for our support. Please pray for this very needed service for children. If you or
someone you know might be able to serve in this way, please call the numbers
listed on the bookmark.
- Daily prayers on behalf of this church, our
partnership and the people who need our intercession have begun. There is a schedule which
has someone praying every day of the week. The intercessory prayer members
are: Harvey & Jackie Wilson, Dorothy Anderson and Cindi
Scheuermann. If you would like to be a part of this ministry,
contact one of the intercessors and they can help you get started.
- Confirmation Studies
for all ages is taking the summer off. We will begin classes in
September.
Organ-Keyboard Fund
The church has
established a fund to add a versatile keyboard instrument and sound system
to our church. This instrument would provide programming to:
- Aid our musicians,
- Serve as a means for music when musicians are unavailable for services,
and
- Support a new choir in rehearsals.
Our goal of $5,000 will support the purchase of all the equipment and
services to add this instrument to our church. This instrument would not
necessarily replace our electronic organ, but add equipment to meet our
needs. We will need special contributions and memorials to support this
fund. Please indicate on your check or envelope "organ"
to designate a gift to this project.
Benevolence Funds are
available for your contributions! Just put your offering in the collection plate and
designate which fund you wish to donate to on the envelope.
