What is Baptism?

Baptism is not just plain water, but it is the water included in God’s command and combined with God’s word. God makes the promise of you receiving the Holy Spirit.

Baptism rescued me from the death of the devil and gave me eternal salvation; anyone who believes this will receive what I have as the Word and promises of God declare. It also washed my sins away. Acts 22:16 says: Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away. Mark 16:16 says: Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; if you do not believe, you will be condemned. It is only unbelief that condemns. Baptism has helped me grow as a Christian. Believing God’s Word is in itself evidence that Holy Spirit is working in us (1 Corinthians 12:3). Baptism and the gift of the Holy Spirit which I received there helps me read, understand and grow in faith with my Lord.

Because God’s promises are sure, baptism worked for me.
