Read: 2 Chronicles 25:1-13
Meditation: Amaziah came into power at a young age, and as it
is stated he "did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, but not
wholeheartedly." Amaziah was not perfect, but he did bring Israel
back into God's grace. He built the army up and even listened to God's
battle plan when he was told not to take certain men in battle. He had
been faithful to a point, but disobedience and demise were on the
horizon.
Prayer Starter: Father, grant me the wisdom to live in Your
good graces. Help me to share in Your love and display that love
throughout my life. Keep me away from my disobedience that is always on
the horizon.
Read: 2 Chronicles 25:14-25
Meditation: Amaziah had begun the spiritual reconstruction of
Israel, but in the end the gods of foreign lands prevailed in his life. He
had done well, but war had taken its toll. In the end, he had to flee to
another land where he was tracked down and killed. However, his earlier
faith in God, and his early reconstruction of Judah, allowed him his
birthright of being buried with his fathers in Judah.
Prayer Starter: Father, I know that I will sin and be filled with
disobedience at some point in my life. I thank You for Your Son Jesus who
gives me my birthright, which is eternal life with You.
Read: 2 Chronicles 26:1-15
Meditation: It's interesting that Uzziah didn't necessarily pick
up where Amaziah had left off; rather, he began his rule as Amaziah had
began his. Amaziah had died as an exile after bringing foreign gods into his
homeland. Uzziah would suffer somewhat the same fate in the end; but for
now, Uzziah did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. He ruled during the
days of Zechariah and listened to his instruction. He went to war, built
towers, and built a strong military around him. Uzziah had become powerful
in his kingdom. Like his father, Uzziah had begun well.
Prayer Starter: Father, help me to walk in the ways of the
faithful that have come before me.
Read: 2 Chronicles 26:16-22
Meditation: Uzziah's downfall was the result of one thing: pride.
When our lives lead us into a position of power, it is often easy to let
that go to our head. Pride overcomes us, and we forget that it is not by our
power that we have achieved, rather, it is by God's power. Uzziah was
inflicted with leprosy and was never the powerful ruler he once was. His
kingdom was managed by his son Jotham, and Uzziah lived seperately from
everyone else. Once a powerful man, Uzziah now was inflicted with a life of
solitude.
Prayer Starter: Father, let my heart always look to you with
thankfulness. Keep me from becoming prideful. Help me to remember my power
comes from You.
Read: 2 Chronicles 27:1-4
Meditation: Jotham is the last of this line of good kings. He
followed in his father's and grandfather's footsteps by doing right in the
eyes of the Lord. He did one thing different. He did not let his power and
his pride overcome him.
Prayer Starter: Father, thank You for Your grace. Help me to be
like Jotham, giving thanks to You for my wisdom and strength.

Read: 2 Chronicles 27:5-9
Meditation:
Jotham's faith and obedience for God has given him much power. He
was powerful, and because he walked with the Lord, his power continued
to increase. Jotham didn't completely follow in the footsteps of his
fathers. He did right and continued doing right throughout his reign.
Prayer Starter: Father, it is by You that everything comes to
me.
