Monday

Read: Romans 12:6-8   1 Corinthians 12:8-11 

"On the 7th day of Christmas my True Love gave to me: Seven Swans A-swimming." 

Meditation: These are the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit which include: Prophecy, Ministry, Teaching, Exhortation, Giving, Leading, and Compassion.

Prayer Starter: Lord, send Your Spirit to me and give me more of these seven gifts so I can share them with others.  

Tuesday

Read: Matthew 5:3-10 

"On the 8th day of Christmas my True Love gave to me: Eight Maids A-milking." 

Meditation: Here we see God giving us the eight beatitudes as found in Matthew 5. Read them carefully and consider each one as a precious gift from God.

Prayer Starter: Lord, help me to see these beatitudes as something special for me.  

Wednesday

Read: Galatians 5:22 

"On the 9th day of Christmas my True Love gave to me: Nine Ladies Dancing." 

Meditation: This gift from God is the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit. We are giving them so that we can show them in our lives on this earth as we deal with other people.

Prayer Starter: Lord, help me to use these fruits from Your Spirit in my relationships with other people.  

Thursday

Read: Exodus 20:1-17 

"On the 10th day of Christmas my True Love gave to me: Ten Lords A-leaping." 

Meditation: Our God has given us the Ten Commandments to help us to live a life without sin. However, we know that is not possible, but we should try to keep them as best we can.

Prayer Starter: Lord, help me to live a life were I can follow Your commandments and, when I fail, forgive me. 

Friday

Read: Luke 6:14-16 

"On the 11th day of Christmas my True Love gave to me: Eleven Pipers Piping." 

Meditation: This is the eleven faithful Apostles and the live they lived that brought the message of Jesus to the world. This does not include Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus.

Prayer Starter: Lord, as I look at the lives of the Apostles help me to live my life like them as I bring the message of Jesus to others.   

Saturday

Read: The Apostles Creed

"On the 12th day of Christmas my True Love gave to me: Twelve Drummers Drumming ." 

Meditation: This is the twelve points of doctrine that is found in the Apostle's Creed. They are: 1) I believe in God, the Father, Creator of Heaven and earth; 2) I believe in Jesus, His only Son, our Lord; 3) conceived by power of Holy Spirit and born to virgin Mary; 4) suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried, descended into hell ; 5) on third day rose again, ascended into heaven, and is seated at right hand of the Father; 6) he will come again and judge the living and the dead; 7) I believe in the Holy Spirit; 8) the holy Christian Church; 9) the communion of saints; 10) the forgiveness of sins, 11) the resurrection of the body; 12) and life everlasting.

Prayer Starter: Lord, thank You for all of Your gifts. Help me to use them in the right way. Amen.
