Monday

Read: 1 Corinthians 15:12-22   Matthew 22:23-33

Meditation: As we look at these passages we begin to see that all men will be raised from the dead; past, present and future. Many people deny that this will happen, and even in Jesus' day the Sadducees confronted Jesus on this issue. Jesus answer to them in Matthew 22:31-32 is in the present tense even though the people that Jesus mention had died. "God is not a God of the dead but of the living." There will be some day a resurrection of all mankind. All that have ever lived on this earth will live again.

Prayer Starter: Lord, I give You thanks for You are a God of the living and some day I too will rise from the dead to live forever.

Tuesday

Read: John 5:28-29   Acts 24:15

Meditation: Today we see scripture saying that all men will be raised at the same time if we take these passages and others like   John 6:40,44,54 and  John 12:48  literally. We must see that there can not be two resurrections that the pre-millennialist talk about. It all happens together. All men will be raised from the dead and we will all be judged that same day. The just and the unjust will have one resurrection and will not be separated by 1000 years as some want to believe.

Prayer Starter: Lord, one day I know I will be resurrected by You. Help me to keep faithful so that I will be judged by You as a just man.

Wednesday

Read: 1 Thess. 4:13-18; 5:1-9  2 Thess. 1:4-10  Matthew 25:31-33,46

Meditation: Today's reading deal with what the pre-millennialist call the rapture. That belief states that Jesus will come back to earth and only the righteous will be raised and then a seven year period of tribulation and a millennium will occur before the wicked are punished. However, scripture clearly states that both the righteous and the wicked will enter their reward at the same time. You might want to read again  2 Peter 3  and  1 Cor. 15:22-26  if you are still not sure.

Prayer Starter: Lord, help me to see clearly what You say about Judgment Day.

Thursday

Read: Romans 2:5-11   Matthew 25:1-16   1 Thess. 4:17; 5:9-10
  Revelation 20:11-15

Meditation: As we look at what will happen after our judgment we see that the Bible talks about two destinies of men. First the wicked will be punished and then the righteous will have their reward.

Other verses that you can read about this subject are Matthew 5:10-12  1 Peter 1:3  2 Thess. 1:5-9  Matthew 13:39-42  Romans 6:23 .

Prayer Starter: Lord, help me to be one of the righteous so I can have my eternal reward of living in heaven to praise and worship you.

Friday

Read: Romans 1:32; 2:4-5  5:6-9  6:23      2 Thess. 1:5-9

Meditation: Many may ask why God would have a Judgment Day. Surely a God of love would not punish forever those who have been disobedient. However, God's love and mercy motivates Him to offer men eternal life. But His righteousness and justice requires Him to punish disobedience. To save us from the consequences of sin God gave the life of His son, Jesus. When our God has done all of this for us and we still reject that salvation and refuse to repent then we surely deserve to be punished and God's justice demands it.

Prayer Starter: Oh Lord, help me to continue to believe in what Jesus has done for me. He has made it possible for me to have forgiveness and salvation.

Saturday

Read: Mark 13:24-37

Meditation:
We conclude our reading with the words of Jesus and His Words about His coming again. First we see that man will know and see that coming. Second we see the angels will gather the elect from the whole earth. Next Jesus tells us that His words will never pass away. We also see that only the Father in heaven knows the exact day that it will happen. And, finally Jesus warns us to always be on the watch for its coming.

Prayer Starter: Lord, help me to see the whole truth of Your second coming.
