Jesus' Second Coming
Part 2 by Pastor Ronald Boelte

A Thousand-year Reign or Resurrection, Judgment, and Eternal Reward?

See also:

Last week we started looking at some scriptures that talk about Jesus' second coming. We read about such things as whether Jesus will come again and judge men, the fact that when that will happen is not known, and what will happen to the earth and heaven when He comes.

Scriptures are very clear that Jesus will come back and that there will be many people who do not believe it. 2 Peter 3:3-4 talks about those who will scoff about the fact that it has not happened yet and say it will never happen, but the Bible points out that it will happen when God decides that the time is right.

The second point is that many people have tried to pick the time of that coming by what they see happening around them and what the Bible says about those end times. Every prediction by these men have been wrong. There are those of every generation that have stated this surely must be the last days. However, the Bible tells us that only God knows the exact time that Jesus will come back and that we should be ready for it to happen at any time.

The third point we looked at was what will happen to the earth and for that matter heaven also. We are told in 2 Peter and Revelations that the earth and heaven will be destroyed and a new heaven and earth will be created by God.

As we continue our readings this week, three main subjects from God's Word will be looked at. We will look at the resurrection of all men, the time between Jesus' coming and the judgment of man, and the eternal destinies of men. So get your Bible and let us begin to see what the Scriptures say about Jesus' second coming to this earth.
