Monday

Read: 2 Peter 3

Meditation: Here we see Peter ending his letter with the concern of what is being taught by some people of the second coming of Christ. We have here some facts on that day that is coming. What are the facts as taught in scripture about Jesus and His second coming by Peter in this letter?

Prayer Starter: Lord, there are many different teachings out there about Jesus and His second coming. Help me to dig out those facts from Your Word.

Tuesday

Read: 2 Peter 3:3-4

Meditation: Let us focus on these two verses from 2 Peter, and see what the Bible tells us about Jesus and the belief that He will come again. We see here even in the early church that there were some that did not believe in Jesus' second coming. Many today do not even believe that Jesus is God's Son. They deny the first coming of Jesus, let alone a second coming. They hope or have convinced themselves that He will never return to judge men.

Prayer Starter: Lord, help me to never doubt that You will return some day to judge mankind.

Wednesday

Read: Acts 1:9-11  Romans 14:11-12  Acts 17:30-31  Hebrews 9:27

Meditation: If you believe that God does exist and that Jesus rose from the dead, that the Bible is true, then you must believe that Jesus will return some day to judge all men. These passages point to that fact.

Prayer Starter: O Lord, help me to see and not doubt about Your second coming.

Thursday

Read: 2 Corinthians 5:10  Romans 2:6  Matthew 25:32  Romans 14:10-12

Meditation: The Bible clearly states that all men will be present at the judgment. It is not an appointment we can be late to or even miss. There will be no excuses accepted and no amount of money, influence or power can prevent your appearance. Everybody will know and confess who Jesus is and we will all have to give an account of our lives to God.

Prayer Starter: Lord, I know I will be judged by you. Help me to truly believe in Your Son Jesus and what He has done for me.

Friday

Read: 1 Thessalonians 5:1-6    2 Peter 3:10

Meditation: The Bible does not tell us when Jesus will come again. No one knows or can even predict His coming, so we need to be prepared for it at all times. The Bible tells us that Jesus' return could be anytime. Do not believe anyone when he claims they have set the date for His return for they have marked themselves as false teachers, for they claim to know what the Bible expressly says no one can know.

Prayer Starter: Lord, help me to see that I need to be prepared for Your coming at all times.

Saturday

Read: 2 Peter 3    Revelation 21:1

Meditation:
Look at these passages to determine what will happen to the earth when Jesus returns. The context of 2 Peter is doctrinal instruction of what will happen to the earth. It is not symbolic or poetic, but a statement of fact by Peter to his fellow believers. When Jesus returns, the earth will be destroyed,. not only that we see a creation of a new heaven and a new earth.

Prayer Starter: Lord, I know that there are a lot of fictions out there about what will happen to the earth at Your coming. Help me to see that it will be destroyed and that my faith in You is more important than anything that is on this earth.
