Monday

Read: Habakkuk 2

Meditation: In this chapter we see the prophet Habakkuk give a testimony against what many of the people of his time were doing to others who were against God's Word. Their faith in God was not a true faith, for they were not living the faith of righteousness. Verse 4 say that "the righteous will live by faith." Do you live a life of faith?

Prayer Starter: Lord, help me to live a life of righteousness and faith.

Tuesday

Read: Romans 1

Meditation: Paul's opening in the letter to the Roman Church has many different things that we could focus on. However, Paul's quote from Habakkuk 2 that the "righteous will live by faith" helps us to see what we need to focus on when we are looking at our forgiveness and faith. In His letter to the Romans, Paul uses the word faith over and over again throughout the book. Do you think that Paul thought faith must be an important aspect of a Christian's life?

Prayer Starter: Lord, help me to stay focused on my faith especially when I need Your forgiveness.

Wednesday

Read: Ephesians 2

Meditation: It is by grace that we are saved, Paul tells us in this chapter. Not by any of our works and yet we were created to do good works for God. What a dilemma: we are to do good works and yet it is not our works that save us, but God's grace and mercy.

Prayer Starter: Thank You, O God, I now have the confidence to know I am save by Your grace to do the works You have called me to do.

Thursday

Read: Romans 3

Meditation: Righteousness comes from faith, not by observing the law. We are justified by our faith by God. This faith is in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Faith is mentioned 10 different times in this chapter. As you read, think about what Paul is telling you about faith and how it applies in your life.

Prayer Starter: Lord, thank You for the love and mercy You have shown to me by Your Son Jesus. Help me to have the faith I need to be justified and righteous.

Friday

Read: Romans 4-5:2

Meditation: Paul now talks about some of the great people of faith and how it was their faith that saved them.
Faith is mentioned 12 times in these few verses. Use them to help strengthen your faith.

Prayer Starter: Lord help me to have the faith like the people Paul uses as examples here in Romans.

Saturday

Read: 2 Peter 1

Meditation:
Peter also encourages us to look at our faith and to keep it strong. These passages and others all point to the fact that we can not earn our forgiveness, but that God has given it to us because of our faith in what Jesus has done for us on the cross. He has taken our place and died on that cross as our sacrifice for us and then rose again for our salvation.

Prayer Starter: Thank You Jesus, for being the One who has done it all for me. Help me to keep my faith to the end of my days.
