Monday

Celebrating the Joy!

Read: John 15:9-11

Meditation: We know that our mission is not something that was made up by man. Jesus commands us to learn, pray, and seek His wisdom so that we will be equipped to go and teach, preach, and love in a world that is so often short on Jesus. When we obey God, scripture tells us we will remain in His love; therefore, we will be able to love others. He tells us this so that we can understand what true joy is, and that joy can be complete. When our joy is complete in our lives we should celebrate, because we know we are heading in the right direction of God’s mission for us.

Prayer Starter: Lord, thank You for supplying and developing the joy in my life. I pray that I never forget to celebrate this great mission in which You have sent me and my church family into. Help others to see this complete joy in me, and, with Your ever loving grace, inspire them to become a part of our Ablaze! mission.

Tuesday

Celebrate the Homecoming

Read: Luke 15:8-10

Meditation: This parable shows us the love and joy that is celebrated all throughout heaven when one of the lost ones of Christ come into His kingdom. In the same way, we here on earth too should celebrate when we see someone turn to Christ in their life. This is the whole purpose of this mission in which we have focused on over the past seven weeks: reaching the lost with the Gospel of Christ Jesus. Yes, we should celebrate and develop those who are new to this salvation in which we are so joyful about.

Prayer Starter: Lord, I celebrate with You those who have come into Your kingdom. I know that when I came, the same kind of celebration took place. Help us to reach more people in our communities and around the world, so that there will be many more celebrations in the future.

Wednesday

Celebrating the Community

Read: Luke 24:50-53

Meditation: When good things happen in our lives, we should meet as family. When bad things happen in our lives, we should meet as family. Celebration as family takes place all over the world, so why shouldn’t we as Christians, take our celebration out into our communities. How can people celebrate with us if they don’t know we are celebrating. Celebrating community is a powerful way for us to strengthen our lives in Christ, as well as reaching out to others in our communities with the love of Christ.

Prayer Starter: Father, thank You for the community that You have blessed me with. I pray that You would always give me a passion to celebrate Your love with those in my community.

Thursday

Celebrating the Day

Read: Psalm 118:24

Meditation: Sometimes we just need to stop and celebrate. We like to celebrate. We celebrate Birthdays, Anniversaries, and other holidays as a means of showing our excitement and care for each other as a family. However, we don’t have to wait until these occasions to celebrate. When our day is going bad, sometimes we just need to stop and celebrate that this day is made by the Lord for a purpose. When things are going good, we should stop and celebrate and let God know that we understand and give Him praise for this wonderful world in which He has put us to live. Celebration is certainly an act of worship, and, best of all, something we can do at any moment during the day.

Prayer Starter: Jesus, thank You for the joy that You bring. I ask that You would continue to bless me with many more wonderful days, and most of all, help these days that we celebrate to be fruitful toward You.

Friday

Celebrating His Greatness

Read: Psalm 96:10-13

Meditation: God’s glory screams out to us in every aspect of nature. The universe and its vast array of stars, planets, moons, and of course the sun, is so enormous we can’t even begin to fathom how big it is. The earth itself has a vast array of landscapes from the deserts, to the mountains, and especially, the oceans. Our human bodies contain miles and miles of blood vessels and arteries, cells, and other things that fit in this little thing we call our body. Guess what? God made all that. God made the enormous things of this universe, and He also made the smaller things. Either way, all of nature screams of God’s glory, why shouldn’t we? As God’s chosen creation to enter into a relationship with Him, we should always be willing to confess and celebrate the greatness of our God. It’s an act of praise, it’ s an act of reverence, and, most importantly, it’s an act of witness to those who don’t realize it.

Prayer Starter: Lord, You are great! I can’t explain how gigantic this world feels to me. But, despite the enormity of Your creation, You still make time for little ole’ me. For this, Lord, is what makes You great! You can create the enormous universe, but Your main goal is to have a personal relationship with me. Thank You, Father, You are great!

Saturday

Living with Hearts Ablaze!

Read: Luke 24:32-35

Meditation:
That’s what happens when Jesus comes to us: our hearts are set on fire. That’s the purpose of this mission and of this celebration. We should recognize Jesus’ presence in our lives and continue to push forward into our communities with this Gospel burning in our hearts. Today we celebrate; we do not stop. We press on toward the goal that Christ Jesus has set for us.

Prayer Starter: Father, give me the strength and wisdom to continue teaching Your Word to those inside and outside my community. Keep this fire burning hot inside me, and help that flame spread to others.
