The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, "We have found the Messiah" (that is, the Christ).
—John 1:41

Andrew was one of the first people to hear John the Baptist claim Jesus as the "Lamb of God". He immediately goes and talks with Jesus. That encounter was to change his life forever, but it was to impact the world even greater. He goes and tells his brother, Peter, about Jesus.

Often in scriptures, Andrew comes in second as far as recognition. He never writes a book of the Bible, and he is never mentioned in the Book of Acts. This does not seem to faze him, for his passion in life was to tell others about Jesus. It was his first priority. His wish was for them to have their hearts set Ablaze! with the love of God and the knowledge of Jesus as their Messiah.

I often wonder what impact our communities would see if we had a whole church full of people with the heart of Andrew. They would be making friends with all kinds people and introducing them to Jesus one at a time. What a blessing it would be for the church if each of us would see Jesus the way Andrew did and want to share Him with the same passion. For the fire of Christ's love is set Ablaze! in the hearts of people one at a time.

As we learn more about Jesus, let us pray about who we can share it with. Then go tell them about Jesus and give them that knowledge that Jesus is the "lamb of God."
