Ablaze! What a mission to undertake in our congregations! As Christians
we often wonder how to get people informed about the Gospel of Jesus
Christ, but many of us just can’t come up with any good ideas. Here is
our chance!
Many times when we undertake mission programs designed to bring a great
spiritual harvest, we leave out one important thing: prayer! When there is
potential for a great spiritual harvest, prayer should be our top
priority. We think of prayer as quiet confessional time, alone with God,
and that is fine. But we also have to realize that prayer not only has
power to lead us in the right direction, it also has the power to reap a
great harvest. When Jesus was presented with the opportunity for a great
spiritual harvest, prayer was his top priority, therefore, if Jesus
depended so much on prayer, how much more should we.
As we look into our devotions for this week, we will read about six
different types of prayer that we should pray. As you read, think, do I
pray like this; and if you don’t, pray for guidance in doing so. With a
strong prayer life, we can do our part to set our churches and communities
Ablaze! with the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
