Monday

Read: John 16

Meditation: Jesus' teachings are confusing to the disciples and they have many questions, but Jesus speaks clearly to them about being friends to God.

Prayer Starter: Jesus, many times when I read Your Words I get confused. Help me to understand just like You helped the disciples to understand.

Tuesday

Read: John 17

Meditation: Jesus invites us to listen to one of the last conversations He has with the heavenly Father. It is for our comfort and encouragement. As you read it again remember that, as our great High Priest, Jesus continues to intercede for all of us.

Prayer Starter: Jesus, You are even now praying for me before God's throne. Help me to bring my needs to You in confidence.

Wednesday

Read: John 18

Meditation: As you again read the accounts about Jesus' passion, you can't help but be impressed that Jesus suffered and died willingly. He laid down His life for us all. Jesus was prosecuted in my place.

Prayer Starter: Jesus, thank You for willingly laying down Your life on the cross for me.

Thursday

Read: John 19

Meditation: Satan had tried for thousands of years to derail God's plans for salvation. At first we may think that he has succeeded, but Genesis 3:15 promises that Satan's head will be crushed even though Jesus would be bruised. Satan could not and indeed has not won.

Prayer Starter: Jesus, even though You have laid in the tomb, the grave is not our eternal bed. Like You we all will be raised.

Friday

Read: John 20

Meditation: Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday have changed human history forever. They have changed also our personal history forever. As you read today think about how your life is different because of what Jesus has done for you.

Prayer Starter: Jesus, Your resurrection has changed everything in my life, not only now but forever. I give You thanks.

Saturday

Read: John 21

Meditation:
Jesus was raised from the dead and now He shares the "spoils" of His victory over Satan with us. Now we too can rejoice in the freedom from guilt, and the sure and certain hope of eternal life.

Prayer Starter: Jesus, thank You for all things. For Your victory is also my victory.
