Jesus is Coming–Are You Ready

See also:

If you have been keeping up on the readings of Matthew, you have seen Matthew talk about King Jesus in many different ways.

In last week’s reading, we see Jesus telling His disciples about His second coming, and his warning in Mt. 25:13: "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or hour." Yet we have seen many people from the very beginning, even His disciples, speculating on the very hour and day that Jesus would come back. So far none have been right , but people still try to predict it.

The fact is we can not predict His second coming, for only the Father in heaven knows the exact time. Yet we are warned to be ready for it, because our end on earth or the end of time could happen any time.

Jesus often uses parables when He talked of that second coming. In Chapter 25 we see the parable of the Ten Virgins and a wedding celebration being used to warn us to always be prepared for Jesus’ return. We are to be like the 5 wise virgins that had prepared well, and not like the 5 foolish who had not been prepared. By all outward signs these ten virgins looked the same and they all were waiting for the bridegroom, but the 5 foolish ones we are told represent those in the church who are outwardly in the church but do not have true belief in Jesus as their King and Savior, and were not really ready for His return.

Every day we should consciously have on our mind that this could be the last day of our lives on this world.

Have you ever wondered how can I be sure I am ready? To sum it all up, we are ready when we daily live a life of faith in King Jesus our Savior. When we live and have faith in Jesus as the Son of God and what He has done for us, then we are truly in the hands of the only one who controls every thing, even the end of the world.

Yes, Jesus Christ is coming! Are you ready? If the answer is yes, then your future is bright, for God promises only the best for those who believe.
