The King of Kings

Last week we began reading Matthew the first book of the four pillars (the
four Gospels of New Testament). If you have keep up you would be starting
chapter 14, but before we do I would like to review some of what we have
been reading by looking at it with the idea of Jesus as a King and His
work in the Kingdom.

- 1:18-25; The King’s birth.
- 2:1-12; The King’s worshipers.
- 2:13-23; The King’s enemies.
- 3; The King’s inauguration.
- 4:1-11; The King faces temptation
- 4:12-25; The king’s proclamation.
- 5; The King tells of life in the kingdom (repentance, relationships)
- 6; Life in kingdom Continued (giving, praying, fasting)
- 7:1-14; The King talks of living in the kingdom
- 7:15-23; The King tells of entrance into kingdom.
- 7:24-29; The King tells of security in the kingdom.
- 8:1-22; The king’s authority over sickness
- 8:23-27; The King’s authority over nature.
- 8:28-34; The King’s authority over Satan.
- 9; The King’s authority over sin and death.
- 10; The King shares His authority
- 11; The King’s authority questioned.
- 12:1-13; The King’s authority to show mercy.
- 12:14-45; The King’s authority is challenged.
- 12:46-13:58 The King tells how the Kingdom grows.
This week we will continue to see how Matthew talks about King Jesus
and His kingdom.
