When, Lord?

Have you ever said to yourself?

I’ve prayed about this problem many times, but God doesn’t seem to be doing anything... Why do I not see any results from my praying... If God cares about me so much, why am I still sick? Why doesn’t He heal me... Why do I feel that often my prayers don’t get past the ceiling...This problem is so big, does God know what will happen if He doesn’t help me?

We often ask ourselves these questions when it seems as if God has forgotten about us, and our prayers are not getting answered. Sometimes I wonder if people who worshiped idols felt this way? Certainly they did not get what they prayed for. But we are confident that we worship a living God. Since He hears us, why doesn’t He show Himself more often and more powerfully in our life? Why must we ask over and over for the same things, or for something which seems would be very logical. In the devotions for each day of this week we will read about Bible people who had to wait for God to answer them, and often never fully understood why the wait was necessary.
