If we are all sinners, how are eternal
rewards possible?
Read: 2 Corinthians 5:19
Meditation: In this article of the Creed we say that we believe
in the forgiveness of sins. The Bible tells us that, "all have
sinned and [therefore] fall short of the glory of God". If this
is true, then how is the forgiveness of sins possible? God tells us in
this passage that because of Jesus, God is not counting those sins
against us. This doesn’t mean we should go on sinning, actually we
should accept this gift, and sin no more.
Prayer Starter: Thank You Jesus for dying on the cross. If my
sins were counted against me, I would surely reap the furnace. Because
of You, I don’t have to pay for the sins that I have
committed.
Does God forget our sins?
Read: 2 Corinthians 5:21
Meditation: No. God doesn’t forget our sins; Christ allows God to
forgive our sins. Just because they don’t count against us, someone has to
pay for them. We say that nothing in this world is free. The same is true
for eternity. Our sins have to be charged to somebody, before we can be made
righteous before God. Our sins are not forgotten, they are just already paid
for.
Prayer Starter: Forgive me Father for all of my transgressions
against You. I often overlook what the payment is for my sins. Help me to
remember that it’s only through Your love for me that I get to share
eternity with You.
What do scriptures teach about the
resurrection of the body?
Read: 1 Thessalonians 4:16
Meditation: This is what the Bible calls the "great and
dreadful day of the Lord." It will be great for those of us who
have Christ, and dreadful for those who don’t. This passage tells us the
Christ will raise the dead first. This proves that on that last day, Christ
will take to heaven those who have already died. This proves a bodily
resurrection.
Prayer Starter: Lord, help me to see the joy in my life right now.
Any day could be my last, and I want to live every moment for You. Father, I
pray that on that last day, I will be one of those that You judge worthy to
be reunited with my body in heaven.
Are believers the only ones that will be
resurrected?
Read: Daniel 12:2
Meditation: It’s important to understand that believers will not be
the only ones resurrected on that last day. Unbelievers will also be raised
to face the judgment seat. Some of us will receive eternal life and some
will receive eternal shame and contempt. The Bible tells us that everyone
will receive eternal life; the question is, "How do you want to
spent it"?
Prayer Starter: Father, I pray that You would guide me in the way to
eternal glory with You...
What about the "life everlasting"?
Read: 1 Corinthians 15:51-52
Meditation: Eternal life is not something that is achieved by our own
merit. God gives all believers in Christ eternal life because of His great
mercy and love. God re-emphasizes this promise to the church in Corinth.
This passage tells us that on the last day, all believers will have their
glorified body and soul joined in heaven, and begin the full enjoyment of
being with Christ forever.
Prayer Starter: Father, thank You for this wonderful promise. Never
let me cease in praising Your name. Help me to look forward to life with You
forever.

How can I appreciate eternity now?
Read: John 3:36
Meditation:
When we look at eternal life, we always look into the future. We
think, "Wow this sounds good. I can’t wait to get there."
That’s good. We should be looking forward to this. This verse
gives us even more excitement. In this scripture we see that eternal
life is not just something we look forward to. As soon as we accept and
believe in the Son of God, we have it. Eternal life is not only in the
future, it is a present possession.
Prayer Starter: Thank You Jesus for being with me everyday of my
life. When I am lonely or struggling, I can always remember that I am an
eternal being; right now.
