Monday

Read: Isaiah 49:1-6

Meditation: This scripture is one you are probably familiar with if you’ve went through our "Purpose Driven Life" study. God tells Isaiah that God formed him specifically with a blueprint, and also that his specific purpose was to be a servant to Him. We are all formed in this way. We all fit in the church somewhere, and God gives us clues where that may be. It’s up to us to see.

Prayer Starter: Father, open my eyes so that I can see Your vision for me in Your church. Thank You for not just creating me, but for creating me with a purpose.

Tuesday

Read: 2 Timothy 1:7-9

Meditation: Paul speaks to us about having the discipline to stick things out. He tells us not to be ashamed or scared of the struggles that we may have to go through, but rather stick it out, because it’s from that discipline that God will define His purpose in our life.

Prayer Starter: Help me Father, to hang on to You during the struggles that I may have to face. Help me always to look to You in my time of struggle, and help me also to rejoice in these things. Give me the faith to know that You will show up in Your time.

Wednesday

Read: 1 Corinthians 12:1-3

Meditation: These verses are pretty clear about the Spirit’s importance in our lives. Without the Spirit, we can be fooled into pursuing goals which God doesn’t want for us. If we don’t recognize Him in our journey to achieve our purpose, then we run the risk of being fooled, therefore never fulfilling the purpose that God has for us.

Prayer Starter: Thank You Father, for sending me the Spirit, who counsels me in my decisions. Help me to recognize the Spirit’s presence in my life, and give me the faith to know that the Spirit is guiding me.

Thursday

Read: 1 Corinthians 12:4-7

Meditation: Again, these verses stress the Spirit’s importance in our lives. Without Him, we will miss the gifts that God has sent us. Without Him we will overlook the ones intended for us, and try to latch on to the ones that aren’t.

Prayer Starter: Lord, help me to see the spiritual gifts that You put in my life; then give me the motivation to use them.

Friday

Read: Ephesians 4:11-14

Meditation: Here we see that God has appointed people to do very different things. The point of this is so that we can all grow in maturity. When we all grow in maturity together, we build a strong foundation for our faith. God has a place in the church that He wants you active. It’s up to you and the people with whom you fellowship with to find out where that is.

Prayer Starter: Father, help me to find my place. Right now, I’m not sure where You want me in the church. If I am somewhere where I shouldn’t be, move me to where I need to be. Help me to stop making excuses, and start focusing on what You tell me. I know one thing; there is a place for me.

Saturday

Read: Revelation 5:13

Meditation: One way to begin our motivation towards finding our purpose, is to look at the end result. We are blessed to have a God that gives us a glimpse into eternity. God shows us that we will be in this multitude praising Him with everything we have. We have this type of worship in our hearts now. We can commune with these people even now. We are blessed to be able to be a part of the "Communion of Saints," in which we have a connection with the people who are already in this place. Doesn’t it sound wonderful. Remember, God has a place for you in heaven, but first He expects you to come to His table here on earth.

Prayer Starter: Lord, thank You for giving me this "Communion of Saints." I can draw strength and wisdom from those who have gone on before me. I pray that You will always keep a glimpse of heaven in my mind, and that this will always give me the motivation to find my purpose every day of my life.
