Lutheran Hour Ministries is many different ministries, but their focus
is "People of Christ with a message of hope." Today in many
Lutheran churches around the world The Lutheran Hour plays an
important part of ministry in their communities. On this Lutheran Hour
Sunday I want to encourage each of you to think about the hope that is
only found in Jesus Christ and join with millions of other people as we
celebrate The Lutheran Hour.
The Lutheran Hour is the longest running Christian outreach
radio program, and is broadcast to over 800 radio stations. It is
estimated that over a million people listen to the program each week,
which include many who are unchurched.
Since the first broadcast, The Lutheran Hour has been supported
exclusively by caring friends and congregations. It has never received any
financial support directly from the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod or
Lutheran Church in Canada. The message of bringing a changeless Christ to
a changing world goes out, in direct proportion to the support we receive
from those who care about this ministry. In your bulletin today is a
pamphlet that can tell you more of how you can support this important
program. Thank you for your support.
