Ablaze! began as an LCMS World Mission vision to involve every
member, its partner church bodies and partner mission agencies in one
focused effort to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with those who do
not yet know Him.
LCMS World Mission has numerous long-term volunteer missionary
positions available on mission fields around the world. These positions
are vital for LCMS to reach 100 million people with the Good News of Jesus
by the year 2017 which is the goal of Ablaze. Each long—term
volunteer missionary position requires financial support. The following
information summarizes the important financial information individuals
prayerfully considering missionary service should be familiar with.
Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the
workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out
workers into His harvest field."
Matthew 9:37-38
Financial Needs
The financial needs for long-term missionary service vary by
opportunity. The total estimated required cost is available for each
long-term missionary placement. To determine the financial needs for a
particular opportunity, visit the "Service opportunities"
section of our Web site, www.lcmsworldmission.org,
or call a placement counselor at (800) 433-3954.
Costs included: The money needed to be raised for each opportunity
includes everything needed for support from LCMS World Mission while on
the mission field.
Fund Raising Mentor
Long term volunteer missionaries raise money in partnership with LCMS
World Mission. When placed into a long-term missionary position through
World Mission, you will be paired with a fundraising mentor. Not only do
the fundraising mentors help raise support for World Mission, but they are
also assigned to help long-term volunteer missionaries in their support
raising.
Congregational Support
Most long-term volunteer missionaries also raise support in
partnership with their home congregations and other churches. They help
pray for you during your service on the mission field and help raise the
support needed for you to serve there. LCMS World Mission will provide you
with resources for talking to churches, groups and individuals about your
missionary service.
Student Loan Grant
Student loan grants are available for long-term volunteer
missionaries. Long-term volunteer missionaries can apply for a grant of
$500.00 for every six months of service.

I want to THANK EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS AND FINANCIAL
HELP during the time I have been in Taiwan and for my future time in
Taiwan. Lone Wolf, Altus and Elk City still feels like home to me. And,
all of you still feel like family. I think of you often, and you are
always in my prayers. Again, THANK YOU!
